The commission

How a piece comes into being

Application

You submit your project for review: what the piece is for, who will wear it, and what it has to mean. We tell you honestly whether it is something the studio will consider. If it moves forward, we offer a complimentary consultation with a team member before design begins.

Design

Once accepted, a $3,750 nonrefundable design fee begins the process, credited in full toward your finished piece. The design moves through exploration of form, proportion and structure. Every line is considered and refined until the piece feels resolved. Nothing is cast until you have approved it.

Craft

The piece is brought into material. Cast, assembled and finished by hand at the bench in the California studio. Surfaces are refined and edges sharpened, one piece at a time.

Delivery

The finished piece is inspected, packaged and delivered. It is made to be worn and lived with. Ongoing care from the studio will be available for as long as you own it.
